The Alabama Crimson Tide strategically pushed the game away with a colossal nine-run fourth inning. They sealed the deal with a pair of runs in the fifth, leaving no room for the Rebels to recover. On Thursday night, Alabama showcased their prowess by getting 16 hits off Rebel pitchers, including two three-run home runs.

After throwing four pitches, Simmons left the game due to what seemed to be an injury. Mitch Murrell came on to pitch the next 0.2 innings and took the loss, giving up seven earned runs.
Right-handed pitcher Ryne Rodriguez ended the game on the mound. However, he allowed two singles over three innings pitched.
The Rebels will play the rest of the weekend with the loss fresh in their minds; they’ll try to rebound in Game 2 on Friday night.
